Feeling Fluffy
A student told me today that I looked fluffier than usual. Then he asked me if my shirt was actually a coat. The kids do not know I'm expecting but I'm surprised some of them haven't figured it out from random conversations they've heard between me and other adults. Just yesterday, the other pregnant teacher came into my classroom to ask if I had any Tums and we talked for about 10 minutes about feeling the baby move. She has felt her baby move already although she's three weeks behind me in pregnancy. My students were busy with some work but some were close enough to hear. I'm planning on telling them sometime after Christmas break. I can't wait to see what their reactions might be.

I love the word fluffy! I bet they are caching on, it's only a matter of time before they ask! I forgot which grade your teaching? Leave it to kids to say whatever they are thinking. God love em!
ReplyDeleteOf course they may be putting it together but not wanting to ask. That is a sticky situation- is she or isn't she? You'll be feeling Sweetpea soon and may not be able to hold off telling till January. I don't think I could.
ReplyDeleteI think there is suspicion in my classes - I am starting to show but it could be that they think I have been eating too many big macs.
ReplyDeleteFluffy! I like that word!
ReplyDeleteFluffy is a great description!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea that your school kids think you look fluffi!! You could your little one - little fluffi!!
ReplyDeleteThat's what my mom likes to say, that she's fluffy ;) How exciting, and kind of nervous, it would be to get to tell your class very soon!
ReplyDelete(So sorry I haven't been reading for awhile, but I plan to go back and catch up--so I apologize for the comments you'll get way late, in advance ;))
:D Sometimes kids are so much more perceptive than we think. Or maybe they just plain overheard you and were trying to bait you into telling!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be described as fluffy! Gotta love kids!
ReplyDeleteMy friend's 2 boys (7 & 4) are still oblivious to the fact I'm pregnant...I only see them every other month or so but when I was there to pick up the cradle & baby toys, they didn't even question why! My friend says that's boys for ya!
