Still Waiting for Beta #2

So I had to go to the lab later in the day because it was the first day of school with kids and I wanted to be there to lay down some rules and routines. The clinic called 30 minutes after I left the lab and asked where my lab was because they didn't have my results yet. When I told her I'd just left the lab, she said they probably wouldn't get my results until tomorrow. Grrrr....how I wish I'd flown out of school at lunch even if it meant being late for the afternoon. Now fighting the urge to drive 20 minutes back into town to get another HPT.

So I guess I'll blog about the first day of school, in the interest of keeping my mind off delayed test results...haha like that could happen. Anyway, we had a great first day! I'm very excited about this year, more excited than I've been about school in a long time. For the first time ever, I felt ready to walk in and teach this morning. Usually I'm running around like a mad woman trying to prepare those last minute details. 16 out of the 19 on my list showed up and they all seem like sweet, funny, smart kids. Most of them brought a lot of school supplies, which is good because in our area people don't always provide supplies. One mom said that the list at the store said they needed 7 boxes of crayons. Thinking it's a typo but we'll have supplies to replenish with in a few months. I can't wait to see what growth these children show me this year.

Now should I go get that HPT?

  1. Dang your lab! I'm glad you had a great day of school though. Texas doesn't start until next Monday. Can't wait to hear your numbers (whenever they come) and I hope we don't have to wait until you get home tomorrow!

  3. My local RE opens at 5:50 AM for lab work and u/s checks. I guess yours doesn't, which is a major bummer!

Well, tomorrow it'll have to be. Hoping for a VERY huge number.

  4. Hey Paige - I just noticed something. Did you transfer on August 6th and get the first beta on the 13th? If so, that was 7 days after transfer - which is WAY early. CCRM does beta 9 days after transfer and even that's earlier than what I see a lot of women doing (mostly 10-11 days after transfer). If that's the case, your beta was definitely a great number that early in the game!

  6. I'm so glad your titles don't leave me in suspense! Your second beta is even better than the first. This we know for sure but I can understand wanting those numbers!

I love the start of school and school supplies! So glad the students were wonderful. Here's to an awesome year both for you (and your little one) and your students!

  7. Hurry up beta two! Oh, if you don't get it until tomorrow when you're at work, we're going to have to wait until tomorrow evening to hear the results? I don't know if I can handle yet another wait! (Yes, it's all about me. LOL)

And don't spend the money on another test - it'll still be positive, and not tell you a thing. :)

  9. Oh the waiting is horrible.
It seems so strange to hear of school starting this soon. When I was growing up we never started until the Wednesday after Labor day. Hope you get the news early tomorrow.

  13. Oh just think by the end of the school year you could be off on maternity leave and then have the summer too!
That's how both of my sister's births went. And she taught 1st grade (she got moved to kindergarten this year though) and loved having her 12 week leave plus the summer off! However those little ones thought for sure that she would be bringing that baby the day after they found out the baby was born ;)
