Cabinets Installed

Dad and E knocking down the wall between
the kitchen and utility room on December 27 .

After days of drywall work and copious amounts of DUST, today Dad, E, R
and I tore out part of the flooring, patched the hole in the subfloor
where the wall was and installed cabinets.

Mom and Dad took Dollface and me to Red Robin
for dinner. And now, Dollface is taking refuge here for the night
while big sis has a slumber party.

Don't ask why we're watching Hocus Pocus.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And I guess I can't let a post go by without mentioning pain or grief or my dead baby. I was finally able to watch Sweet Pea's ultrasound DVD last night after I wrote about my painful day. I've been wanting to watch it but it never seemed like the right time.

It made me miss him, of course, but it was mostly a good memory. My baby, on the screen, alive and moving all around. The joy of my life. I could see that his little face in real life had resembled the grey blobface on the screen.

My little boy was very fine looking.
I think he would have been wise too.

  1. I can't believe what an insane difference knocking down that one wall made! Wow! The cabinets look good so far.
I'm glad you have a good memory of Greyson. I know that with a Mom like you he would have been very wise.

  2. I think we have/had matching white cabinets (I painted mine white after I moved in) and have that galley style kitchen. I do like your new cabinets.
So nice that Dollface can come hang out with her aunt and have her own special slumber party!
What a cute pic of sweet pea. And I do agree with Melissa.

  3. It looks like you guys got a lot done today. Its coming together. Yippee!

I'm glad you were finally able to watch the DVD and that seeing Greyson like that is a good memory. A few days ago, I read back through some of your posts from when you found out you were pregnant, when you told us and others. There are some very good memories from this entire experience. I hope you can find comfort in them on days when you need a ray of sunshine.

  4. Wow! Your kitchen looks great. When do you think your dad and E can come do mine?

Nothing fancy to say, just that I am still here, still reading, and still thinking of you and Greyson.

  8. I'm glad that you watched your baby boy on the dvd - he would have been wise and caring with such a devoted mommy. I think your kitchen looks so great. I've always liked Hocus Pocus b/c of Bette Midler and a very young, ditzy SJP. Hugs and hope that you have a good Monday tom.
